ISCT西堀勉強会　Inter-disciplinary Study Club Tokyoに参加してきました。

今回は論文抄読。

１本目は　

Subgingival microbiome in smokers and non-smokers in periodontitis: an exploratory study using traditional targeted techniques and a next-generation sequencing
Sergio Bizzarro　JCP2013年

喫煙者と非喫煙者で歯周病菌の種類や数に差があるのかないのかを調べた論文。

結論は細菌叢の大きな差はなく、喫煙者が歯周病になり易いのは

細菌叢の違いではなく、宿主側の問題といえそうです。

２本目は　

Effect of periodontal therapy on the subgingival microbiota over a 2-year monitoring period. I. Overall effect and kinetics of change
Sigmund S. Socransky JCP2013年
 歯周治療前後で歯肉縁下細菌叢にどのような変化があるかを詳細に調べた論文。

想像通り、歯周初期治療をすると３ヶ月間はかなり細菌の数が減る事が証明されました。

定期的なメンテナンスがとても大事である事を裏付ける論文でした。
